The message the author sent was really clear and explained deeply the meaning of the story. Giving things name is to create less distance to them and feel closer to them.
The whole point of the story let people know that names are so important to us and to everything else.

Your right! Giving something a name makes that thing or person feel more important. It also does bring a connection to you.
I also thought the message was clear. I also agree that a name makes a difference and it makes us who wer are and distinct from everyone else
